Nun from Argentina Dies with Smile on her Face. Find out the reason WHY!
This story of a Carmelite nun's passing has been circulating all over the internet.
Rev. Sr. Cecilia Maria was a member of Saints Teresa and Joseph Monastery, a religious institution based in Santa Fe, Argentina. Sister Cecilia Maria fought a long battle with tongue cancer before she died.
It was her lifelong dream to become a nun and she achieved that dream after earning her degree in nursing at the age of 26. Relatives and close friends of the late Sister Cecilia remember her as a cheerful woman who did not let her illness get in the way of appreciating life. The people close to her believe that she never used her illness as an excuse to turn her back on her faith and vocation.
It was announced that, upon her death, she gave out one last lingering smile. People close to Sister Cecilia managed to take photos of this supposed miracle. Her fellow Carmelite Sisters believe that the smile was an indication that Sister Cecilia was prepared to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon her death.
Before her passing, Sister Cecilia wrote down her final wish. Her fellow Carmelite sisters made sure that it was granted. Based on what she wrote, it is clear that she kept her positive outlook on life even in suffering.
Her note supposedly contained the following:
"I was thinking about how I would like my funeral to be. First, some intense prayer and then a great celebration for everyone. Don't forget to pray but don't forget to celebrate either!"
